Computing
At Alston Primary school, our high-quality computing education provides our pupils with the life-skills that will enable them to embrace and utilise new technology in a socially responsible and safe way in order to flourish. Through our progressive curriculum, pupils develop the skills and knowledge which they will need to operate in the 21st century workplace. Our children become autonomous, independent users of computing technologies, gaining confidence and enjoyment from their activities. Across our curriculum, technology is used to support learning and to ensure that our curriculum is accessible to every child. Not only do we aim for our pupils to be digitally literate and competent end-users of technology but through our computer science lessons we develop creativity, resilience, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
